Let’s move on and talk a little more about something very near and dear to my heart: prizes. Specifically, I want to talk about the Prize Wall at Grand Prix Las Vegas. Your first question might be “Prize Wall? What’s that?” Well, it’s a system we’ve devised so that prizes aren’t tied to any particular side event. Instead of winning something you might not be interested in or having to play a format you don’t like to win what you’re excited about, we use Prize Tix as prizes for all of our side events so you can play what you want and win what you want.
What does a Prize Wall look like? Well, it’s something like this:
That’s only a section of one prize wall, though. Imagine a wall of everything Magic: the Gathering—packs, boxes, box sets, deck boxes, playmats, figurines, oversized cards, singles, and more—as far as the eye can see. Well, maybe not that far. But a long way, I promise. I’m fairly certain that everyone will want lots of the swag on the Prize Wall—and you’ll need Prize Tix to get it.
So let’s talk more about these Prize Tix. The base unit is 10 Tix—that’s the equivalent of a current Standard set booster pack. We know you’ll want Modern Masters 2015 as well, and we’ll have those in spades—they’ll be available for 30 Tix each. With our non-Trial Scheduled Side Events awarding 720 Prize Tix for a 5-0 record, you could win up to a full box of Modern Masters 2015 in one go!
Of course, if you’re looking for something different than just the new packs, we’ll be bringing a serious chunk of inventory to Grand Prix Las Vegas in the form of booster packs, singles, supplies, and more. In addition to Standard staples, we’ll have awesome cards from all formats—including some pieces of Power—available at the Prize Wall. If boosters are more your thing, we’re working on getting packs going all the way back to Arabian Nights! We’ll also have plenty of ChannelFireball sleeves, deckboxes, and so on in addition to cool Magic swag like Funko Pop! figurines.
So what’s on the Prize Wall? Well, like I said, tons of stuff, but if you want to get specific, check out our listing of booster packs and Magic-related items here. We’ll try to keep this updated with things as we confirm them, but remember that everything is subject to change and no particular prize is guaranteed to be available at any given time.
OK—that’s what I’ve got for this week.
