I’m kind of including this out of respect to my subscription to PCGamer from the ages of ~7-15. (PCGamer, if you’re interested in rewarding me for my brand loyalty, you can contact me @AndyCuberfauss). In substance-based news, Chalk has a preview of a powerful new draw spell from War of the Spark.
(IGN, don’t miss an opportunity to undercut the competition here. Find out how capricious I can be: @AndyCuberfauss.)
The new Nicol Bolas planeswalker is legit, and it even has curmudgeonly pros like Siggy excited. Tom Marks at IGN interviews Dave Humpherys about War of the Spark, and the making of the newest version of the patron saint of Grixis.
I try to feature up-and-coming Magic players in this column who might not get much spotlight otherwise. I figure it’s a nice way for us to give a shout-out to folks that might go totally unnoticed otherwise. It’s a nice reminder that professional Magic isn’t just about MPL members. James Hsu has an interview with Luis Scott-Vargas (he goes by LSV, apparently) about his life and career over at Humans of Magic.
Man Pauper is great. The last thing I expected to find was an in-depth look at Vivien’s Grizzly, but Kendra Smith has exactly that (and a few more) over at CoolStuff.
Honestly Corbin, I just want to know when that headshot is from. (I literally changed my headshot while writing this blurb to play around the clapback.)

As Magic begins to shift its rules and the cards it prints, Pauper faces change as well.
With a little luck, Dreadhorde Arcanist and Dreadhorde Butcher give you a chance to live the dream in Standard.
This War of the Spark Golgari bomb is everything Decimate hoped to be.
It’s one of the most powerful sets we’ve seen in a long time, and the candidates for non-rotating formats are already plentiful.
Play what you know in Legacy, because the metagame is wide open.
Opponent waiting for me to put 1 on bottom while I don't realize it's my turn to do something because the interface cues are bugged. The good news is it's only happened 7 times so far. @MagicOnline pic.twitter.com/kn6dr1CaNY

Me: "I didn't make any mistakes. There was nothing I could have done to win. My opponent just lucksacked me."
