why not just take it and bash back with everything if he pumps?

I would have blocked with just the tower gargoyle because he would spend 2 mana and also have to sacrifice a land. He was short on mana so that would have been good.

that double block was probably the worst block i have seen in a while. you give him the ability to trade for two guys without spending mana, which lets him cast the singe mind ogre that you know he has in hand. on top of that, if you just take 3 and attack back with everything, he has to chump the 5/5. this leaves him at a very low life, and probably dead on board next turn.
